Ask Centennial: Are Mazdas Reliable?

Are Mazdas reliable? Yes, Mazdas are in fact among the most reliable new vehicles on the market. But we're not just saying that – we have studies to prove it.

This is the third installment of a new series here in Centennial Mazda's News & Events section: Ask Centennial. When our customers have questions about Mazda, we want to answer them. Check out question No.1 here and question No.2 here.

In Consumer Reports 2019 report on the most reliable car brands, Mazda is the highest-ranked mainstream brand. That puts Mazda ahead of Toyota, Hyundai, and Subaru. The Consumer Reports verdict is telling: the publication collects information from more than 400,000 vehicles and isn't just surveying the most recent vehcicles – Consumer Reports takes into account vehicles from nearly two decades.

But that's not the only finding from the most recent reliability survey. The most reliable vehicle you can buy, Consumer Reports says, is the Mazda MX-5 Miata, the most iconic Mazda of all.

And on the list of the 10 most reliable vehicles you can buy, three are Mazdas: MX-5, CX-3, and CX-9.

It's because of this reliability that Mazda can back its cars in a way no other manufacturer does. Mazda's Unlimited Mileage warranty is the only one of its kind in Canada. That means a comprehensive 3-year new vehicle warranty, the 3-year roadside assistance program, the 5-year power train warranty, and the 7-year anti-perforation warranty are all maximized with Unlimited Mileage. You don't don't stand behind your cars like that unless you're confident.

Watch this video to learn more about how Mazda tests its vehicles for long-term durability in corrosive climates like the east coast of Canada.
