Everything There Is To Know About The 2024 Mazda CX-90's Trim Levels And Build Configurations For Canada

Mazda Canada's all-new, first-ever 2024 CX-90 will be available with three different powertrain configurations and 10 build derivatives with pricing starting at $45,900. Not including $1,995 for freight and PDE, prices for the plug-in hybrid version of the CX-90 kick off at $54,900 – that's before federal and PEI provincial rebates of $2,500 and $3,250, respectively.

All 2024 Mazda CX-90s run a hybrid powertrain of one kind or another. The CX-90 GS, GS-L (and GS-L with Captain's Chairs), GS-L Enhanced Package, and CX-90 GT operate with a the e-Skyactiv G 3.3-liter turbo, an inline-six engine paired with M-Hybrid Boost cranking out 280 horsepower and 332 lb-ft of torque. Official fuel economy ratings peg the CX-90 3.3T hybrid at 9.9 L/100km in the city, 8.4 L/100km on the highway, and 9.3 L/100km overall. 

The 2024 Mazda CX-90 GT-P and CX-90 Signature, on the other hand, use a high-output version of the 3.3T hybrid producing 340 horsepower and 369 lb-ft of torque. Mazda says Natural Resources Canada's fuel economy ratings will likely land around 10.3 L/100km in the city, 8.5 L/100km on the highway, and 9.5 L/100km overall. 

The final powerplant is a plug-in hybrid that marries an adapted version of Mazda's 2.5-liter engine with a 17.8 kWh battery. The 2024 Mazda CX-90 PHEV produces 42 kilometres of pure electric range before requiring the conventional gas-powered engine to fire up. The e-Skyactiv PHEV powertrain produces 323 horsepower and 369 lb-ft of torque. The 2024 Mazda CX-90 PHEV is available as a GS, GS-L, or GT.

Standard content in the CX-90 includes i-Activ all-wheel drive with Mi-Drive (Normal, Sport, and Off-Road modes); i-Activsense safety tech including blind spot monitoring, rear cross traffic alert, and Mazda radar cruise control; and Kinematic Posture Control, software from the MX-5 roadster that decreases body roll and helps all passengers maintain a more even keel.
