The 2023 Mazda CX-50 Arrives In Canada At $37,900 – Release Date, Trim Levels, Pricing

The 2023 Mazda CX-50 will arrive at Mazda's Canadian dealers priced from $37,900 in May 2022 with three – and eventually four – trim levels available.

Clearly positioned as a premium product, the 2023 CX-50's "entry-level" trim isn't entry-level at all. Every CX-50 will include Mazda's upgrade i-Activ all-wheel-drive system with multi-mode Mi-Drive.

GS-L

The CX-50 GS-L includes a 10.25" centre screen, 8-speaker Mazda Harmonic Acoustics audio, wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, a power liftgate, and leatherette seating. Mazda's first panoramic sunroof is standard. There's a wide array of i-Activsense tech, including blind spot monitoring, rear cross traffic alert, and radar cruise control. Heated seats and steering wheel, 10-way power driver's seat, dual-zone automatic climate control, black metallic alloy wheels – the CX-50 GS-L has all of that kit, too.

GT

The mid-grade 2023 Mazda CX-50 will be the $42,850 CX-50 GT. There are a lot of upgrades, so follow along closely: 12-speaker Bose audio, navigation, wireless charging, black or terracotta leather upholstery, memory settings for the driver's power functions, and ventilated front seats. There's heads-up display (Mazda calls it Active Driving Display) plus a 360° view monitor, emergency lane keeping with blind spot assist, front and rear parking sensors, and adaptive front-lighting that steers light around corners. The CX-50 GT runs on 20-inch machine-cut alloy wheels.

GT TURBO

The $45,350 2023 Mazda CX-50 GT Turbo makes one major change: the 187-horsepower Skyactiv-G engine is swapped out for a turbocharged version with 256 horsepower and 320 lb-ft of torque. That bumps the CX-50's towing capacity from 2,000 pounds to 3,500 pounds. You'll be able to spot the CX-50 GT Turbo thanks to subtle turbo badging along with bigger exhaust outlets and slightly altered front and rear bumpers with silver accents.

MERIDIAN

But wait a minute: there's another CX-50 on the way. Later in 2022, the 2023 Mazda CX-50 Turbo Meridian Edition arrives with 18-inch alloys and all-terrain tires. There'll be rocker panel and headlight protection plus a unique hood. More details for equipment levels and pricing on the Meridian Edition will be released closer to its arrival.
